She Is A Goddess!
Reimagining aerial photographs of Abu Dhabi city as Goddesses of a pre-Islamic time

She Is A Goddess!
Ritual Sculpture & Print Series– 2019–Ongoing
She Is A Goddess! transforms the geometry of Abu Dhabi’s aerial maps into a hybrid cosmological figure—part woman, part mermaid, part mammal. Her upright posture, gills, and scaled body suggest a deity adrift in submerged memory, suspended across time.
Sculpted in clay, molded in alginate, and cast in concrete, the figure became a ritual object: repeatedly stamped in black acrylic across canvas to form a visual field of remembrance. The work unfolds not as a single sculpture, but as a constellation of fragments—casts, molds, prints—each capturing a moment of invocation.
The piece features:
• Hybrid Deity Form: A part-human, part-animal goddess with gills and a mammalian gaze.
• Concrete Casts: Created through clay sculpture and alginate molds.
• Print Series: Imprinted in black acrylic across canvas as repeated visual incantations.
Medium: Clay, Alginate, Concrete, Acrylic, Canvas, Paper
Presentation: Display of sculptural forms, process elements, and ritual stamp prints.
